Who Really Did Kill Jesus?

All of us are aware that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead after three days. And that has been more than 2000 years ago now. One of the greatest movie ever made about the life of Christ or His crucifixion was "The Passion of the Christ" by Mel Gibson. It portrays of how Jesus was delivered to the authority and how He was killed/died on the cross.

But have we ever come across to a point of asking who really did kill our precious Saviour Jesus?

Was it the Jews who accused that Jesus was a blasphemous one that they brought Him to Pilate to have a death?

Was it Judas who handed Jesus over to the authority?

Was it the Roman Soldiers, who scourged Jesus to death and nailed to the cross?

Was it Satan who was in the first place the cause of Sin? for He deceived Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden?

Was it Pontius Pilate the Roman Governor who gave the Jews the authority of crucifying Jesus?

Or was it us who are sinners from the very beginning of humanity that really killed Jesus and sent Him to that cross?

Note: Isaiah wrote something incredible several hundred years before the birth of Jesus stating...

" Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth."

Isaiah 53:4-7

Isaiah clearly states that it was because of our sins, infirmities, sorrows, transgressions and inequities that caused Jesus' death. Sin requires death to atone for.

The Son of God was the only sufficient payment for the sins of the world. Therefore, it is justified to say that our sins killed Jesus Christ.

  1. it's really sad to know that we (sinners) killed Jesus Christ. . . .but it was the only way to save us. . .and it was also planned by GOD to be like that. . .let's just be thankful that even if we are sinners,Jesus died for us because of His love for us. . .He saved us from eternal death into eternal life living with Him in His kingdom. . .thank you Lord for opening our eyes. . .^^,

  4. ei Third, thanks for the comments. yeah I have expected that there are some people would react on this blog. I didn't mean anything about this I just wanna express what I was wondering about. Maybe I was lacking some more explanations and clarifications or maybe completely wrong about this. Well I believe that I am not the only one who are thinking this way. And there are some other individuals having the same thing.

my intension for posting this blog is just by simply saying "who were really responsible for Christ's death?." The title might sound very negative because of the word "KILL" , excuse me about that.

    Let me just say that..

The Jewish leaders, Judas Iscariot and Pontius Pilate had their parts they played in fulfilling the plan of God that Christ should die. But I suggest they were not solely responsible for His death.

The truth is that I share the responsibilty of His death and so do you. He died for me, for my sin and yours. It was the only way we could be saved for our sins. It was God providing Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. His dying for our sins was fullfillment of what was prophecied centuries earlier. It was the way God would redeem sinful man like me.

WHO KILLED JESUS? YOU and ME and US, THAT'S WHO!!!

    Because of our sins God
sent His Son to die on the cross.

    God Bless everyone!!!!

    PEACE OUT!!!!!! =)

  5. hey robert. i understand.

but the thing is there is an objective truth about GOD according to HIS WORD and not just of mere expression of subjective understanding on the WORD.

robert, reading further in Isaiah 53 will give you the answer, verse 10. also, Acts 4:27&28.

i know the answer might be shocking for you, as it was for me. but keep in mind that HE love us so much that HE did everything for us.

    see it for yourself.

am excited for you to know the answer!!! :D

disclaimer: readers might think am giving out answers from my own expressions, NO! its just there, in HIS WORD, written. Its HIM who gives the answer.

  7. I saw it...

    Isaiah 53:10

Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

I know what you mean. That It was God's will that Jesus to die on the cross, I agree with that but on this verse it's still seems to me that the reason beyond that "will of God" is the trangression and fall of man/ the committed sin by Adam and Eve.

going back to Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities..."

So what I myself understand is, it was still our sin who made God to decide to crush and cause Jesus to suffer so that He will be able to take back what's His..

this is how I view this.. I want to know yours if you do not mind..

I will be more than happy to hear your part about it for the benefit of me and our readers...

    Thanks for your time! =)

May only Jesus' name be lifted high upon us!!!

  8. Jewish leaders have long been deeply sensitive to any characterization of Christ’s passion that would transfer guilt collectively to the Jews, a view that historically has been used as grounds for persecution of Jews as “Christ killers.”

The Christian Bible does, in fact, teach as a point of history that Jewish leadership was responsible for the execution of Jesus. There are two critical points to keep in mind, though, when making this observation.

The identity of Jesus’ executioners is largely irrelevant to Christian teaching. What is critical is that Jesus truly died and was raised, not that any particular group was responsible for His death. Indeed, from the perspective of theology, all men are responsible for the death of Christ because all sinned, and this the New Testament is very clear on. Further, Jesus also made it clear that He gave His life willingly (John 10:18). No one takes His life from Him, He said, but He lays it down on His own initiative. - Gregory Koukl

  9. of course.... we really are the reason why christ "sacrificed" himself on the cross....

i dunno, but come to think of it, he is the son GOD, he could just blast the whole area or kill someone with a blink of an eye.... but, why did he let that to happeN? i mean... he could just go and free himself right?

maybe he just wanna show us how he love eveyone... perhaps it a love that no one could ever imagine yet recieved from him...

honestly i know little about catechism or whatsoever it is called, but i strongly believe that Christ died FOR US becuase he love us so much.... so much that dying in cross is the sweetest thing for him.....

hahaha, i know someone might negate what i have written in here, anyway those are just my opinions....

    peace everybody! hahaha
