Do Not Worry.

Coping with our challenging life situations depends not on our own wisdom or ingenuity. It depends on out willingness to release them to a loving and sufficient God, seeking His face to sustain us.

All of us like to feel that we have control. If you express anxiety or fear to your friend most of the time the response is, "Don't worry, it will work out all right." It means that everywhere we turn we are always told not to worry.

Don't worry because when you worry Bobby McFerrin says, "In your life expext some trouble. When you worry you make it double. Don't worry be happy."

What worries or concerns cause you to feel stress, anxiety or fear?

I heard someone said that if life is compared to a parade we can find ourselves watching from the side of the street, it is clear that we cannot see what is coming up next. Neither can we control it. We have a big float in our faces. We can only see the circumstances where we find ourselves today. Sounds pretty helpless. But there is good news, and that is God is in the helicopter hovering above the parade. He can see what we went through yesterday, all that we are facing today, and what will be facing tomorrow. No matter how out of control we feel, God can be trusted with all of our tomorrows. He is the source of the wisdom for all our todays.

I realized that God is always there waiting for us to run to Him especially when things don't make sense and when we are unable to control circumstances we face.

Let me share you what I just recently came across while doing my devotion.

Proverbs 3:5-9: "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all.Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best."

Philippians 4:6-7 "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."

Do not worry, bring everything to God in prayer and trust Him wholeheartedly. And He will take care of the rest.
